About YSR Kalyanamasthu Scheme

Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh Yeduguri Sandinti Jagan Mohan Reddy has launched this wonderful scheme named as YSR Kalyanamasthu Scheme. Under this scheme financial assistance of up to Rs. 1 Lakh will be provided for the marriage of the girls belonging to categories of SC, ST, BC, differently-abled and construction worker families. As we know that marriage is a special event in the life of a women and parents of unmarried girls also feel that it is their social responsibility to perform their daughter’s marriage in a dignified manner. There are such families who are unable to bear expenses of their child marriage, keeping an eye on it the state government has come out with this wonderful scheme to help such families. Inter-Caste marriage can be one of the important steps to reduce the caste-prejudices, eliminate ‘untouchability’ and spread the values of liberty, equality, togetherness, etc in the society.

Objectives Of YSR Kalyanamasthu Scheme

The objectives of the Scheme are as follows:

• The primary objective of launching the Scheme is to appreciate the socially bold step of an Inter-caste marriage taken by the newly wedded couple.
• Another objective of the scheme is to provide financial incentive to the couple which enables them to settle down in the initial phase of their married life.
• It is clarified that this scheme is not launched as a supplementary scheme to an employment generation or poverty relief scheme.
• The aim of the government under this scheme is to support poor families so that they can perform their daughter’s marriage in a dignified manner.
• This scheme aims to prevent child marriage as well as the dropout from the school.
• The government aims to improve the financial conditions of the beneficiaries.

Benefits & Features Of YSR Kalyanamasthu Scheme

Here are some benefits & features of the Scheme,which are as follows:

• Under this scheme the state government will provide financial assistance of up to Rs. 1 Lakh to every couple for their inter caste marriage.
• Financial assistance will be provided for the marriage of the girls belonging to categories of SC, ST, BC, differently-abled and construction worker families.
• There are such families who are unable to bear expenses of their child marriage, keeping an eye on it the state government has come out with this wonderful scheme to help such families.
• Inter-Caste marriage can be one of the important steps to reduce the caste-prejudices, eliminate ‘untouchability’ and spread the values of liberty, equality, togetherness, etc in the society.
• Generally, SCs and STs categories people will receive benefits of about Rs. 1 lakh.
• BC people who marry outside of their caste will receive financial assistance of Rs. 75,000.
• Handicapped and  disabled person will receive financial assistance of Rs. 1.5 lakh.
• Two construction workers will each receive Rs. 40,000 in exchange for marriage.

Eligibility Criteria

To avail the benefits under the Scheme you should satisfy the requirements, which are as follows:

• Applicant should be a permanent resident of Andhra Pradesh State.
• Applicant should belongs to SC, ST, BC, differently-abled and construction worker families.
• Age of the bride and groom should be:
• Bride: Minimum 18 years
• Bridegroom: Minimum 21 years
• Bride or groom should have passed class 10th.
• Only 1st marriage is eligible in case of widow.
• Total family income of bride and bridegroom should be:
• Less than Rs. 10,000/- in Rural Areas.
• Less than Rs. 12,000/- in Urban Areas.
• Total land holding of family of bride and bride groom should be:
• Less than 3 Acre of Wet Land, or
• Less than 10 Acre of Dry Land, or
• Total 10 Acre of land both Wet and Dry.
• No person in a family should be:
• Government Employee or Government Pensioner.
• PSU Employee.
• No Family Should own Four Wheeler Vehicle.
• Monthly Electricity Consumption should be less than 300 Units.
• No Family Member should be a Income Tax Payee.
• Should Own less than 1000 Sq. Ft of Residential or Commercial Area.

• Aadhar Number of the Bride and Bridegroom
• Marriage Card
• Photo and Wedding Card
• Birth Proof
• Cast Certificate
• Income Certificate
• 10th Marksheet or Certificate
• Aadhar Card of Father /Mother /Guardian
• Mobile Number of Bride and Bridegroom
• Email ID of Bride and Bridegroom

Application Procedure Under YSR Kalyanamasthu Scheme

To apply for the scheme, candidates should follow the below mentioned steps:

• Visit the official website at gsws-nbm.ap.gov.in.
• Click on “Login” button, then select “Citizen Login” and enter “Aadhaar Number” and Captcha.
• Click on “Send OTP” button.
• Enter the OTP you have received on your mobile number linked with Aadhaar.
• Then select the “YSR Kalyanamasthu Scheme/YSR Shaadi Tohfa” option.
• Fill the application form and attach all the relevant documents.
• Click on “Submit” button to complete the application process.

Procedure To Check Application Status

To check the status of the application, candidates should follow the below mentioned steps:

• Visit the official website at gsws-nbm.ap.gov.in.

• On homepage click on “Application Status” option.
• Another page will appear on your screen.
• Select Scheme and year  then enter your Aadhaar Number and Captcha.
• Click on “Get OTP” button.
• Enter the OTP you have received and click on Submit to check the application status.
• Application status will appear on your screen.
