About UYEGP Scheme

Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises Department (MSME), The Government of Tamil Nadu has introduced UYEGP Scheme. UYEGP stands for Unemployed Youth Employment Generation Programme. This programme is launched for unemployed citizens of the state who belongs to socially disadvantaged and economically weaker sections of society. The state government will provide financial assistance to unemployed citizens so that they can start manufacturing, services or can have their own business firms. As we know how difficult it is to start a business, especially for those people who belong to socially disadvantaged and economically weaker sections of society, they also face difficulties in taking loan from the bank, so keeping all these things in mind the state government has taken this initiative to launch Unemployed Youth Employment Generation Programme.

Eligibility Criteria

To avail the benefit under UYEGP Scheme, you should fulfill these eligibility criteria:

  • Applicant should be a permanent resident of Tamil Nadu State.
  • The applicant should have at least passed an eighth-grade education.
  • Age of the applicants must be between 18-45 in general and for special categories such as Women, Minorities, BC, MBC, SC, ST, Ex-servicemen, Transgenders, Differently-abled, the age relaxation is up to 55 years.
  • Annual family income should be less than Rs. 5 Lakh.
  • Training is required for a UYEGP loan.
  • The recipient must not have received a State/Central Government loan or subsidy to apply for UYEGP.
  • Applicants must not have taken any kind of loan before.

Application Procedure For UYEGP Scheme

To apply for UYEGP Scheme, please follow the below mentioned steps:

  • On homepage select “UYEGP” under Schemes option.
  • On another page click on “New Application” under “Apply Online” option.
  • If you are a new user click on “Register” to get registered yourself.
  • Fill the details as asked in the form.
  • Again login to your dashboard and fill the application form.
  • Attach all the relevant documents.
  • Click on Submit button to complete the application process.
  • If you form get accepted, you will get a call for an interview.
  • After the successful interview, the bank will be told that the loan should be approved.
  • The loan will be approved by the bank. The beneficiaries will get a call letter to join the EDP training.
  • You need to send in your certificate of EDP training. The affidavit should be typed on Rs. 20/- Non Judicial Stamp Paper and signed by a Notary Public.
  • The affidavit should be given to the bank along with a copy of the rental or lease agreement when the loan is approved.
  • Then you will receive an EDP letter for training and you have to attend those training sessions. Afterward, you will get a training certificate as well.
  • Then submit the certification to the bank and you will get loans.
