About Aasara Pension Yojana

The Aasara Pension Scheme was started on 8 November 2014 by the former Chief Minister of Telangana, Kalvakuntla Chandrashekar Rao in Kothur in Mahboobnagar district. The government is spending Rs. 5,500 Crore every year under this scheme. This scheme is a welfare scheme which protects the most unsafe sections of society specially the old and weak, people suffering from HIV-AIDS, widows, disabled weavers and toddy tappers who have lost their means of livelihood with growing age. Under this scheme, the government aims to support their day to day minimum needs required to lead a life of dignity and social security. The scheme provides monthly pension from Rs. 200 to Rs. 1000 for the old aged, widows, weavers, toddy tappers and AIDS patients and Rs. 500 to Rs. 1500 for disabled persons. The applicants can verify the status of their payments using their Pension ID, UID or SADAREM ID.
