Andhra Pradesh state chief minister Mr. YS Jagan Mohan Reddy introduced the YSR Matsyakara Bharosa Scheme on 21 November 2019. The scheme is only available to fishermen in the state of Andhra Pradesh. Under this program, the government provides financial assistance to aqua farmers and fishers in addition to other advantages. Beneficiaries of this plan get an annual payment of Rs. 10,000 from the government.

Recipients of this plan would also get a 9 rupee per liter diesel subsidy and Rs. 10,000 every year between April and June when there is a sea outcrop and lean season. The family of any fisherman who loses their lives while fishing will receive financial assistance in the amount of Rs. 10 lakhs. This plan is only available to fishermen who are between the ages of 18 and 60.
