About Yogyashree Scheme
Hon’ble Chief Minister of West Bengal Mamata Banerjee, Government of West Bengal has announced Yogyashree Scheme for the students of their state. This scheme includes beneficiaries from the minority, OBC and General Categories. Under this scheme the state government will provide free training module for students of Scheduled Caste and Scheduled Tribe communities across West Bengal State for the preparation of engineering and medical courses. The scheme was launched on January and till then the Yogyashree trainees got 23 ranks (including 13 IIT seats) in JEE (Advanced), 75 ranks in JEE (Main), 432 ranks in WBJEE and 110 ranks in NEET. The number of centers in the state has now been increased to 50 in consideration of the value of this critical training support to disadvantaged boys and girls. Along with this, the number of trainees has also increased to 2000 and the training will be given from Class XI onwards for better preparation under this scheme.
