Manipur Chief Minister N Biren Singh introduced new schemes and gave out incentives totaling Rs 300 crore to more than four lakh recipients of different government programs. The recently introduced programs included a livelihood guarantee program for athletes, the CM Yarn Scheme (which includes Muga silk buyback) and a special package for enterprises who are successful and want to hire internally displaced people. Welfare Scheme

The Manipur government gave four lakh beneficiaries of 46 state and central programs a total of Rs 300 crore through direct benefit transfers (DBT). The primary target group of the effort was those who had been internally displaced because of the ethnic violence that started in May 2023. For the benefit of the displaced families from the Kuki and Meitei tribes as well as those living in relief camps Rs 32 crore was provided.
