Telangana Gruha Jyothi Yojana

Gruha Jyothi Telangana is a government program that offers all qualified families in the state of Telangana free power. The Congress party introduced the plan in 2023 following its victory in the state elections. Under the Gruha jyothi scheme, all residences with monthly power consumption of no more than 200 units are eligible for free electricity.

This includes residences that are connected to the grid and those that are not. Over 1.5 million Telangana families are expected to profit from the Gruha Jyothi Scheme. The state government is expected to pay about Rs.3,400 crore for it annually.

Eligibility Criteria

• When applying for the Gruha Jyothi scheme, candidates should not be in arrears with any power payments.
