Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu Mr. Muthuvel Karunanidhi Stalin has launched Tamil Nadu Government 1000 Rupees Scheme. As we know that how women are always oppressed and have no freedom to live their life, keeping an eye on it, the state Government has launched this scheme. The aim of the scheme is to uplift the social status of female citizens and transgenders by providing financial assistance to them. Under this scheme the state government will provide financial assistance to all the financially unstable female citizens of the State. Annual family income of the family should be less than Rs. 2.5 Lakh and should own less than 5 acres of wetland and 10 acres of dry land. More than 1 Crore women of the state will get the benefit of the scheme. As the government expects to receive 1.5 Crore applications under the scheme. The state will spend Rs. 12 thousand crore annually for this scheme.

Eligibility Criteria
To avail the benefit under this scheme, candidates should fulfill these eligibility criteria:
- Applicants must be permanent resident of Tamil Nadu.
- Applicant must be female citizen.
- Age of the applicant should be 21 years old or above.
- Women should fall under economically weaker section of society to be eligible for the scheme.
- Transgenders are also eligible for the scheme.
- Each family can nominate one woman member from the ration card for the benefit.
- Annual family income of the family should be less than Rs. 2.5 Lakh and should own less than 5 acres of wetland and 10 acres of dry land.
- Annual domestic power consumption should be less than 3,600 units.
