State Ministers and Collectors officially launched the Chief Minister’s breakfast scheme throughout the districts on Monday. The program feeds students in government-aided schools in the central region with a wholesome breakfast. The Morning Breakfast Scheme of the state of Tamil Nadu will now benefit children enrolled in government-aided schools.
On 15 July, the day of the former chief minister K Kamaraj’s birth, current chief minister MK Stalin declared on Monday that the Morning Breakfast Scheme will now be available to state-funded schools. Students will receive breakfast for free as part of the program. The announcement will help 2,33,536 students from 3,995 government-aided elementary schools around the state. On 15 September 2022 the chief minister launched the breakfast scheme which will benefit 1.14 lakh students enrolled in Classes 1 through 5 at 1,545 government primary schools.
