About PMAY Gramin Scheme

The PMAY is made up of two components that is Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana Gramin which is also known as ‘Rural’ (PMAY G/R)and the second component is Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana Urban (PMAY–U). PMAY-G (Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana–Gramin) is a social welfare programme which aims at providing affordable housing units to the poor people.Under this scheme both central and state government will provide housing facility to the economically marginalized families living in urban areas and is known as PMAY – Urban which was converged with Indira Awas Yojana, now it is restructured as Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana – Gramin.
