The Reserve Bank of India has developed UDGAM Portal which is an online portal, under which UDGAM stands for Unclaimed Deposits-Gateway to Access information. This portal facilitates the registered users to search unclaimed deposits/accounts across multiple banks under one platform in a centralized manner. All unclaimed deposits/accounts that are part of the Depositor Education and Awareness (DEA) Fund of RBI can be searched under the UDGAM portal. There are 30 banks as on March 4, 2024 which are part of the UDGAM portal and they cover about 90 per cent of the unclaimed deposits (in value terms) in DEA Fund of RBI. Registration Procedure Under UDGAM Portal
To register under this portal, follow the below mentioned steps:
- Visit the Official Website at udgam.rbi.org.in.
- On homepage click on “Register” option.
- Enter the required details such as mobile number, first name, last name, password and Captcha.
- Click on the two boxes and then click on “Next” button.
- Enter the OTP you have received on your registered mobile number.
- And click on “Register” button to complete the registration procedure.
Procedure To Search Unclaimed Deposits Of Individuals And Non Individuals On UDGAM Portal
For Individuals
To search for unclaimed deposits in the individual category, a user must enter information about the account holder, the name of the bank (users can choose up to five banks) and one or more of the following five inputs: the account holder’s date of birth, permanent account number (PAN), driving licence number, voter ID number and passport number.
For Non Individuals
To search for unclaimed deposits in the non-individual category, a user must enter four inputs: the name of the authorized signatory, PAN, Corporate Identification Number (CIN) and the date of incorporation. The user may choose to enter the names of the entity and the bank.
