Department of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare, Ministry of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare, Government of India has launched PM Kisan Samman Nidhi Scheme on 24 February 2019 for the farmers. This scheme is a Central Sector Scheme with 100% funding from the Government of India. Under this scheme the government will provide financial assistance of Rs. 6,000 per year in three equal installments to all land holding farmer families. The financial assistance will be provided directly to the bank account of beneficiaries. The Government of India is set to release 17th Installment. Around 9.26 crore farmers across the country will receive the financial assistance under 17th installment. The PM Kisan Yojana 17th installment has a budget of about Rs. 20,000 Crore.
