The Honourable Prime Minister of India Shri Narendra Damodar Das Modi has launched the PM Cares Scheme on 29th May 2021 for the children of the country. The aim of the scheme is to support those children who have lost their both the parents or legal guardian or Adoptive parents or surviving parents during Covid-19 pandemic started from 11th March 2020. The scheme ensures complete care and protection of Children in a sustained manner. According to the reports, 9,331 applications from 613 districts covering 33 states and Union Territories (UTs) were received under the scheme.
Out of the total applications only 4,532 applications from 558 districts across 32 states and UTs were accepted, however 4,781 applications were rejected and 18 are pending. PM Cares Scheme
The Honourable Prime Minister of India Shri Narendra Damodar Das Modi has taken the initiative to launch PM Cares Scheme for the children of the country. The scheme ensures complete care and protection of children in a sustained manner and enable their well being through health insurance. This scheme empower the children through education and equip them for self-sufficient existence. The Government will provide financial assistance to these children when they reach at the age of 23 years. Financial support of Rs. 10 Lakh will be provided to children.
Under this scheme the government will provide assistance for higher education in the form of loan. However, under the scheme, some of the states has received highest number of applications under this scheme which includes Rajasthan (1,533 applications), Maharashtra (1,511 applications) and Uttar Pradesh (1,007 applications). Approved number of application in these states includes 210 from Rajasthan, 855 from Maharashtra and 467 from Uttar Pradesh.
