About PM Awas Yojana Urban 2.0
Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs, Government of India has introduced PM Awas Yojana Urban 2.0. It is a social welfare programme which aims to provide affordable housing to the urban poor.Under this scheme the government will provide financial assistance ranging from Rs. 1,20,000 to Rs. 2,50,000 which is provided as subsidy for housing construction for the people residing in urban areas. Various subsidy amounts have been kept under this scheme according to different areas.
This subsidy amount is transferred directly to the bank account of the beneficiaries through DBT. The amount will be sent to the beneficiaries in installments. This scheme provides social security to the citizens who belongs to economically weaker section of the society and whose income is very low.

- Applicant should be a permanent resident of India.
- Age of the applicant should be 18 years old or above.
- Annual income of the family should be less than Rs. 6 lakhs.
- Applicant should belong to Lower Income Group (LIG) or economically weaker Section (EWS).
