Under the leadership of Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu State Thiru Muthuvel Karunanidhi Stalin, the Social Welfare & Women Empowerment Department, Government of Tamil Nadu has introduced Moovalur Ramamirtham Ammaiyar Ninaivu Marriage Scheme. From the year 2022-2023 this Scheme has been updated to Moovalur Ramamirtham Ammaiyar Higher Education Assurance Scheme. Under this scheme all the girls of the state who studied in government schools from class VI to XII and enrolled in colleges for higher education along with regular course will get the financial assistance of Rs. 1,000 per month till they complete their graduation. This scheme aims to prevent child marriage as well as the dropout from the school. This scheme helps the daughters of poor parents, orphan girls, widows, widow who get remarried and inter caste married couple.
