About Maharashtra Student Stipend Scheme
Minister of Finance and Deputy Chief Minister of Maharashtra Mr. Ajit Anantrao Pawar has presented the state budget 2024-25 in June and made an announcement of Maharashtra Student Stipend Scheme. Another name of the scheme is Mukhyamantri Yuva Karya Prashikshan Yojana. The state Government has set the allocation budget of Rs. 5,500 Crore on the scheme for the unemployed youth of the state. Under this scheme, the training to 10 lakh youths will be provided every year. The State Government will provide stipend of up to Rs. 10,000 per month under this scheme. The aim of the scheme is to enhance the employability and skill development of the youth and prepare them for a competitive job market. The internship will last six months and the stipend will be provided through Direct Bank Transfer under this scheme. Those industries or organizations who want to be part of the scheme should register with the government. Industries or organizations should have been in existence for three years and should have all the documentation and certifications to be eligible. An industry can take up to 10% of its total workforce for such a scheme. The service sector can hire up to 20%.
