About Gujarat Anna Brahma Yojana
The Department of Food, Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs, Government of Gujarat has launched Gujarat Anna Brahma Yojana for the distribution of sugar, edible oil and double fortified salt as well as pulses (such as chickpeas and toor dal) to poor families under public distribution system. Under this scheme the authorities will provide 10 to 15 kg of food grains (10 kg of wheat and 5 kg of rice per person) to the beneficiary free of charge every month with the aim of preventing death due to starvation and malnutrition. The state government is taking responsibility for the distribution of free food grains of 5 kg each to about 4.26 lakh identified migrant labourers who do not have ration cards.

- A patient lying on a hospital bed.
- A needy person who seems right from a general appearance.
- Homeless and orphan child which means street children are also eligible for the scheme.
