Ministry of Communications, Department of Telecommunications, Government of India has taken the initiative to launch CEIR Portal for lost mobile blocking, tracking system on May 17. This portal will enable people to block and track their lost mobile phones. CDoT (Centre for Department of Telematics) has added features to check the use of replicated mobile phones across all telecom networks. The aim of CEIR is to ease reporting of stolen and lost mobiles and block the use of mobiles all over the country. The best part of the program is that it will discourage the theft of mobile phones, which enables the tracing of the stolen and lost mobiles to the police, detection of duplicate or fake mobiles, restrict the use of such cloned mobiles, as well as it protects the interest of the consumers by making them aware of the information related to fake and cloned mobile phones.

Request For Blocking lost/Stolen Mobile Under Ceir.gov.in Portal

To block lost/stolen mobile under CEIR Portal, follow the below mentioned steps:

• First, the person needs to lodge an FIR against the stolen mobile phone.
• Visit the Official Website at ceir.gov.in.

• Then on homepage click on “BLOCK STOLEN/LOST MOBILE” under “CEIR SERVICES” option.
• Form will appear on your screen.
• Fill the form with the required information as asked in the form such as mobile number 1, IMEI 1, Device Brand, Device Model and upload invoice under “Device Information”, then fill the “Lost Information” column and “Mobile Owner Personal Information” column and upload the Police complaint.
• Enter the alternate mobile number and click on “Get OTP” button.
• Enter the OTP you have received and click on “Submit” button to complete the process.
