Recently, the state government has announced the launch of Cash-Transfer Scheme under which the eligible women will receive financial assistance of Rs. 1,500 per month from the government in the 21-60 age group. About Cash-Transfer Scheme
Union Finance Minister of India Nirmala Sitharaman in her budget speech 2024 said that government is considering to launch a Cash-Transfer Scheme for poor urban women. Finance Minister will present the Union Budget 2024 on July 23. However, similar schemes are already running in number of states including Tamil Nadu, Assam, Himachal Pradesh, West Bengal and Karnataka under which financial assistance of Rs. 2,000 per month is being provided to eligible women. Earlier, the Government of Delhi has launched Mukhyamantri Mahila Samman Yojana, under which each eligible women of 18 years will receive financial assistance of Rs. 1,000 per month. The scheme excludes taxpayers, beneficiaries of government pension schemes and government employees. There have been discussion on this scheme and it is under consideration and the identification of beneficiaries can be done through e-Shram portal. This time priority for the government are urban lower-income group.
