About Assam Mukhyamantri Mahila Udyamita Abhiyan

Hon’ble Chief Minister of Assam Sri Himanta Biswa Sarma, the Government of Assam State has launched the Assam Mukhyamantri Mahila Udyamita Abhiyan. Under this scheme the government will provide financial assistance to those women who wants to start their own business. About 40 Lakhs women from the state will get the financial assistance under this scheme. The project has total budget of Rs. 3,900 Crore. State government has prepared a list of 145 business ventures, these business ventures will receive Rs. 10,000 in the first year to start any business. In the second year selected women will get a sum of Rs. 25,000 out of which Rs. 12,500 will be received as a bank loan and the rest will be granted by the state government.

The objectives of the Mukhyamantri Mahila Udyamita Abhiyan are as follows:

• The primary objective of launching the Abhiyan is to provide financial assistance to the women from the state to help them grow their businesses and to make sure that they can become successful entrepreneurs.
• Another objective of the government to launch the scheme is to make the women self dependent and make their livelihood better which will improve the standard of living.

Benefits & Features Of Assam Mukhyamantri Mahila Udyamita Abhiyan

Here are some benefits & features of the Assam Mukhyamantri Mahila Udyamita Abhiyan, which are as follows:

• The government will provide financial assistance to those women who are desiring to start their own business.
• Around 40 Lakhs women across the Assam state will get the financial aid under the scheme.
• Those women who are a part of Self Help Groups (SHGs) will receive a financial assistance of up to Rs. 35,000 spread over the period of 3 years.
• The scheme helps the women to access employment opportunities and will assist them through financial empowerment.
• This scheme will provide the high standard of living.
• Total budget of the scheme is about Rs. 3,900 Crore.

Under this scheme benefits will be granted to selected women in two phases:

• Scheme Phase I : The state government of Assam has prepared a list of 145 business ventures to be initiated by women under the scheme. The government will grant a sum of Rs. 10,000 in the first year as seed fund. This seed fund will be utilized to fulfil the purpose of business ventures initiatives.
• Scheme Phase II : In the second year of this Abhiyan, successful women entrepreneur will get a sum of Rs. 25,000 out of which Rs. 12,500 will be received as a bank loan and the rest amount will be granted by the state government. Disbursement of money in the second phase will be done after proper evaluation of the business initiatives and development during the first phase.

Eligibility Criteria

To avail the benefits under Abhiyan, you should fulfill these eligibility criteria:

• Applicants must be permanent citizen of Assam State.
• Applicants must be a women.
• Applicants should belong to Self Help Group.
• Applicants should not be working in any government offices.
• The women should not have more than three children (for General and OBC beneficiaries).
• The women should not have more than three children (for SC/ ST/ Moran/ Muttock/ Tea-Tribes beneficiaries).

The application form for MMUA will be available on local gram panchayat offices, Online Kiosk, Block Office, District Center and Anganwadi centers.
