About AP Free Sand Policy

Minister of Mines & Geology, Andhra Pradesh Kollu Ravindra stated that the state government will soon going to introduce free sand policy in three months. This will help to bring back the construction sector and in such way it will provide livelihood to lakhs of workers. Minister said that, previous government’s sand policy provided a huge number of workers dependent on 40 trades in the construction sector. In the last five years the sand was sold by private agencies without any control. This free sand policy would be helpful to workers and would make construction affordable for the people. Due to monsoon, mining cannot be done before September and it has been estimated that in the next three months one crore tonnes of sand would be required. For the convenience, sand transportation charges would be adjusted and to control the black marketing steps would be taken.
