Minister of Energy, Government of Andhra Pradesh has taken the initiative to introduce AP Free Power Supply Scheme which ensures that farmers should receive high-quality power supply. The aim of the scheme is to provide 9 hours of free electricity. The electricity will be provided at an affordable price to the farmers of the state, all the families of the Scheduled Caste and Scheduled Tribe community and the citizens who belongs to economically weaker section. The electricity will be provided at the rate of Rs. 1.50 per unit which is the lowest rate. This will help in increase of the agricultural work. 23 Lakh SC/ ST community families are using energy. Under this scheme 53,649 families of the state will be provided electricity at very low cost.
