About Punjab Vridha Pension Yojana

The Department of Social Security And Development of Women & Child, Government of Punjab has taken the initiative to launch Punjab Vridha Pension Yojana. This scheme is a welfare scheme which protects the most unsafe sections of society specially the old and weak and who have lost their means of livelihood with growing age. Under this scheme, the government aims to support old age people for their day to day minimum needs required to lead a life of dignity and social security. Under this scheme, the state government will provide financial assistance of up to Rs. 1500 per month to the old age persons. Beneficiaries should not own a house of more than 200 square metre in urban areas. Applicants can have a maximum of 2.5 acres of irrigated land or a maximum of 5 acres of barren land or waterlogged land.

Eligibility Criteria

To avail the benefits under the Yojana, you should fulfill these eligibility criteria:

• Applicant must be a permanent resident of Punjab State.
• The age of male applicant should be at least 65 years.
• The age of female applicant should be at least 58 years.
• Beneficiaries should not own a house of more than 200 square metre in urban areas.
• Applicants can have a maximum of 2.5 acres of irrigated land or a maximum of 5 acres of barren land or waterlogged land.
• Annual income of the family should be less than Rs. 60,000.

Application Procedure For Punjab Vridha Pension Yojana

To apply for the scheme, please follow the below mentioned steps:

• Visit the official website at sswcd.punjab.gov.in.

• Now click on “FORMS” option, another page will open.
• On another page click on “Application form under old age pension scheme” link.

• Download the form and take a print out of the form.
• Fill the application form carefully and attach the photocopy of the relevant documents with the form.
• Submit this form to your Anganwadi center or SDM office or Panchayat / BDPO office or District Social Security Officer or Child Development Project Officer.
• Now your application form will be examined carefully, if your application is up to mark as per the norms and conditions then you will receive the benefit of the pension scheme.
