About West Bengal Yuvasree Prakalpa

The Directorate of Employment under the Labour Department, Government of West Bengal has launched the West Bengal Yuvasree Prakalpa Scheme. The aim of the scheme is to provide support to the unemployed youth of the state. Under this scheme, the government will provide unemployment assistance of Rs. 1500 per month to the eligible candidates. Beneficiaries will upgrade their skill under any of the Skill Development programme of the state government or private training institutes and increase their employability under this scheme. The state government will provide unemployment assistance to a maximum of one lakh job-seekers annually. The selection of the applicants is strictly based on “First come, first served” process. When the beneficiaries becomes employed or becomes ineligible for the scheme, another job-seeker enrolled in the Employment Bank will be considered for the Unemployment Assistance within the quota of 1 Lakh.

Eligibility Criteria

To avail the benefit under this scheme you should fulfill these eligibility criteria:

• Applicants must be permanent citizen of West Bengal State.
• Applicant should be unemployed person.
• Education qualification should be class VIII pass and above.
• Age of the applicant should be between 18 to 45 years on the 1st day of April of the year in which they are considered for the scheme.
• Applicant should not availed financial assistance or loan under any state or central government sponsored Self-Employment scheme.
• Only one member of a family is eligible for the scheme.

• On homepage click on “Application Form for Unemployment Assistance (Annexure-I)”.
• Fill the application form as appeared on your screen.
• Also fill the “Format for Unemployment Certificate by Group-A Officer (Annexure-II)”.
• Along with this, fill the “Format for Self Declaration by the beneficiary (Annexure-III)”.
• Applicants should submit their filled application form with required documents to the office of the Sub Divisional Officer concerned/ Joint Director of Employment, Kolkata within the specified time period. Recipient should possess a bank account in their name with any nationalized bank, preferably S.B.I.
