About West Bengal Taruner Swapna Scheme

The Government of West Bengal has launched West Bengal Taruner Swapna Scheme in 2022 for the benefit of the students of West Bengal state. Till now about 3.67 crore students received the benefit of the scheme. The aim of the scheme is that the students should study digitally, learn technology and make their future better. Under this scheme, one-time financial assistance will be provided by the state government to the students of class XII after passing class XI across West Bengal state. Financial assistance will be directly transferred to the bank account of beneficiaries through DBT (Direct Benefit Transfer). Students can use this Smartphones/ Tablets/ PC/ to study online and can prepare well for their board exams. Only those students whose parent’s annual income is less than Rs. 2 Lakh are eligible for the scheme. Initially, only Class XII Students are eligible for the scheme, however according to new amendments now the students of class XI are also eligible for the scheme.

Eligibility Criteria

To avail the benefit under the scheme, you should fulfill these eligibility criteria:

• Applicant must be a permanent resident of West Bengal.
• Applicant should be a student.
• Only Class XI and XII students are eligible to apply for this Scheme.
• Those who have passed the last examination are eligible for the scheme.
• Students should be studying in schools belonging to any of the following school boards of West Bengal:
• Government of West Bengal Schools.
• Government of West Bengal Aided Schools.
• Government of West Bengal Sponsored Schools.
• Government of West Bengal Recognized Madrasahs.
• Only those students whose parent’s annual income is less than Rs. 2 Lakh are eligible for the scheme.

• Class XII registration certificate
• Class X Mark sheet

• Bank passbook/crossed cheque/bank statement

Application Procedure For West Bengal Taruner Swapna Scheme

To apply under this scheme, follow the below mentioned steps:

• To avail the benefit under the Scheme, the student should contact the respective school.
• The student has to fill up the “Student DCF form” from and this form will be available in the school.
• Fill the form with required details such as your name, father’s name, school name, age, Aadhaar card number, blood group, educational qualification proof, parents’ name, bank account details and address. Along with this, one photo, address proof and bank account details should be provided.
• Then the form has to be submitted to the specified school authority.
• The school administration will upload the details of all the eligible students of class XI and XII online on Banglar Shiksha Portal by the school teachers.
• The concerned officials will start the process of verification and selection of applications received.
• The list of selected students will be sent to the respective school authorities.
• Then the financial assistance of Rs. 10,000 will be directly transferred to the student’s bank account for purchase of Smartphone/PC/Tablet.
• After purchasing the Smartphone/PC/Tablet, the student has to submit the purchase bill to the school authority for the confirmation.
