About Bihar Gyandeep Portal

Education Department, the Government of Bihar has introduced Bihar Gyandeep Portal for the children of the state. Under the Right to Education (RTE) policy the application process for free admission in approved private schools of Bihar has started from 1st June 2024 and the last date of the application will be 16th June 2024. After this, online schools will be allotted on 18th and 19th June. After that the admission process will be completed with the verification of all the students from 20th June to 30th June. The beneficiaries under this scheme will be the students who belongs to disadvantaged group (DG) and Economically Weaker Section (EWS) category students. Under this Act the Private Schools (Non-Government Schools) will reserve 25% of their seats for those children who comes from disadvantaged backgrounds.

Objectives Of Bihar Gyandeep Portal

The objectives of the programme as follows:

• The primary objective of starting this program is to provide the facility of online application to the students of government schools to study in private schools so that 25 percent of the children of weaker sections can be enrolled in recognized private schools under the Right to Education Act.
• Another objective of the program is to increase the education system across the state.
• This program aims to provide the opportunity to those students who are interested in pursuing their higher education but are unable to afford the fees.
• Free and compulsory education will be provided to those children who belongs to economically weaker section and disadvantaged group.

Benefits & Features Of Bihar Gyandeep Portal

Here are some benefits & features of this program, which are as follows:

• Children above 6 years of age will be provided free and compulsory education under the program.
• The children who belongs to economically and socially disadvantaged groups will be provided free and compulsory education in approved private schools.
• 25% of the seats will be reserved for the children in all Private Schools (Non-Government Schools).
• This program will build the base of the children for their future endeavors by providing proper education from the beginning.
• Children will get a certificate after finishing the elementary school.

Eligibility Criteria

To be a part of this programme you should fulfill these eligibility criteria:

• Candidates should be a citizen of Bihar State.
• Age of the children should be above 6 years as on 01 April 2024 (children born between 2nd April 2016 and 1st April 2018 are eligible for admission).
• Children from disadvantaged group which includes Scheduled Caste, Scheduled Tribe, Backward Class, Extremely Backward Class and Minority group whose parents/legal guardian’s annual income is up to Rs. 1 Lakh.
• Children from weaker sections mean children from all castes / communities whose parents / legal guardians’ annual income is less than Rs. 2 Lakh.

Application Procedure For Bihar Gyandeep Portal

To apply under this portal, follow the below mentioned steps:

• Visit the Official Website at gyandeep-rte.bihar.gov.in.

• On homepage click on “Register Now” option.
• Registration form will appear on your screen.

• It is mandatory to verify the Aadhaar card of parents or guardian.
• While verification of children’s Aadhaar card will be optional.
• Select the “Aadhaar of” either father, mother or guardian then enter the name as per Aadhaar.
• Enter Aadhaar number, date of birth, gender and mobile number.
• Click on “Verify” button.
• Then click on the “Next” button.
• Another page will appear on your screen.
• Enter the information as asked on this page such as name of district, block, name of school and other information.
• Attach all the relevant documents.
• Click on the “Submit” button to complete the application process.
